However, even black-colored fruits can still be acidic, which is why careful handling is required when harvesting. If a blackberry fruit can be peeled off the stalk with very gentle pressure, a degree of ripeness with sufficient sweetness has usually been reached.

Use blackberries in the kitchen for coloring

Almost everyone can remember that adults warn children not to stain light-colored clothing with blackberries. In fact, blackberry juice stains exceptionally strongly and permanently, which is why older clothes should always be worn when harvesting. However, this coloring effect can also be used in a very targeted manner. In this way, sauces and liqueurs with a proportion of picked and processed blackberries can not only be refined in terms of taste, but also visually.
