In principle, the spider plant is not poisonous to humans or cats. However, this does not apply to spider plant seeds. Their consumption triggers gastrointestinal complaints, as does the consumption of large amounts of leaves.
Nevertheless, even as a cat owner you don't want to do without indoor plants. This is not even necessary, because there are many non-poisonous plants and also the possibility to plant particularly desirable or tasty specimens in a hanging basket (€11.99) so that they are out of reach for animals.
Dealing with plants and animals
Cats and other pets should not eat at will even from more or less non-poisonous plants, although the long leaves of the spider plant are very seductive. There are special fodder plants for this, which are also digestible in larger quantities. You should remove poisonous plants from your household. If your cat leaves the plants alone on the window sill, don't put catnip there either, it may be too tempting for the cat. The window sill should remain taboo for your pet. It is better to find another place for the catnip, for example near the sleeping place or the scratching post.
