Can you grow spider plants from seed?

The particularly decorative variegated varieties of spider plants cannot be grown from seed. This is only possible with the wild form. To do this, sprinkle the seeds on fresh potting soil and press the seeds down lightly. Then sprinkle some soil on top and keep the seeds well moist. After some time you can look forward to small plants.

What is the best way to propagate spider plants?

In the case of green lilies, on the one hand, propagation by division is an option. This method is useful when your spider plant has grown quite large. When repotting, carefully divide the plant into two parts and plant each part in its own flower pot. Replace the used soil with fresh ones.

Water the new plants well, but avoid stagnating the water in the pot. If you have not injured the roots excessively, the spider plants will quickly continue to grow as usual.

The second and most important method of propagation for spider plants is also the simplest. Spider plants constantly form small offshoots that you simply have to plant as soon as they have small roots. These offshoots, also called Kindel, can easily be separated from the mother plant.
