description

This event is something very special, because on the occasion of the Düsseldorf Autumn Festival, Eller Castle, which is otherwise not accessible to the public, opens its doors. In the halls, which were extensively renovated from 2008 to 2010, the vaulted cellar and the adjacent castle park, 120 exhibitors present exclusive items that beautify the house and garden. The offer ranges from plants and garden interiors to fine jewelery to fashionable accessories and lifestyle items.

Of course, culinary delights are also provided. Specialties from all over the world and regional wines caress the most discerning palate. In the beautifully landscaped castle courtyard you can relax and linger with live music.

excursion tip

The botanical garden of the University of Düsseldorf is also worth a visit. Admission to this plant paradise is free. One of the visitor magnets is the tropical house, where you can admire numerous unusual plants. Not far from the main entrance, a filigree dome catches the eye. Inside there is a cold house, tailored to the special needs of some plants.

Since the facility is very spacious, it is well suited for family outings. There is an area with benches where you can have a picnic or relax amidst the green oasis.

tips

The Museum of European Garden Art in Düsseldorf is thematically unique. On 2,000 square meters of exhibition space, it offers an overview of 2,500 years of garden history in Europe. Each room looks a little different and is lovingly designed. Interactive presentations complement the offer and make this museum interesting for children too.
