Finkenrech is not only great fun for children

The location

The environmental and leisure center Finkenrech is located at the southern gate of the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park, picturesquely on a mountain behind the Dirmingen district of Eppelborn, not far from Neunkirchen. It can be easily reached by public transport or your own car.

description

The environment and leisure center Finkenrech is characterized by its diverse design. There is something for the whole family here. The attractively designed hiking trails lead past various themed gardens:

  • Relax in the quiet zones of the Asian garden,
  • discover the biodiversity of traditional cottage gardens,
  • sniff your way through the 1,500 square meter rose garden or
  • find out more about a wide variety of medicinal plants in the medicinal garden.

The sensory path and the corn labyrinth, which is open from July to October, are magnets for visitors. You can learn interesting facts about different plants by following one of the nature trails.

The varied program for adults is supplemented by garden tours and special offers. Among other things, the culinary foray into the world of herbs is very popular. The medicinal and spice plants and their mode of action are first explained and you get great tips on how to use them. A tasting completes this interesting tour. Of course you can also explore the entire park or just a part of it together with a guide.

Young and old bookworms can help themselves to the bookcase and indulge in their favorite hobby in a quiet place in the countryside.

Playgrounds and offers for kids

"Experiencing nature and the environment" is the overarching theme of a wide range of children's hands-on programs. The offspring can, for example, take part in a hike with animals or explore the forest habitat together with a guide. In Finkenrech, kids have the opportunity to look over the shoulder of a beekeeper and build a bee hotel for their own garden. In the bakery and kitchen workshop, delicacies are made from fresh, regional products. At the same time, the children get to know different types of grain, vegetables and herbs and learn a lot about healthy, balanced nutrition.

Two playgrounds are integrated into the park, one of which is barrier-free. Here, kids with disabilities will find a wheelchair carousel, a swing suitable for the disabled and a sand play table that can be driven under. There is not only a lot to discover on the adventure playground, it also offers a cable car and various climbing frames.

Celebrate and experience togetherness

A special feature of the Finkenrech gardens is the fully equipped barbecue hut, which you can rent by the day. It offers a large barbecue area, several marquee sets and everything you need for the party. This makes it the ideal place if you want to celebrate with friends in the great outdoors away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Food, drinks and accommodation

When the weather is nice, you can end the day on the Orangery terrace. From small snacks and cakes to delicious German dishes, everything a gourmet's heart desires is offered here.

If you would like to spend several days in the extensive park, you will find charmingly furnished single and double rooms in the country hotel Finkenrech. Four conference rooms of different sizes enable relaxed work in a green atmosphere.

Our tip: The environmental and garden center Finkenrech is freely accessible, admission is free. This oasis in the countryside is therefore ideal for relaxing after a long day at work or enjoying nature on a mild summer evening.
