A pine tree in your own garden? Why not? After all, the conifer is very easy to care for and exudes that incomparable smell of fresh forest soil. The pine hardly makes any demands on the location. Still, they encourage growth by considering a few factors.

The pine- a pioneer tree
Pines are called pioneer trees. This means that they can adapt to the most uneconomical places, even under extreme conditions. Even in rocky mountains they sometimes form the only vegetation. Fortunately, this is not required on your property. This is where your jaw benefits from-
- enough light
- the right soil
- enough space to develop
light supply
Pines need a lot of light to develop. Shady garden corners inhibit growth. When planted under other conifers, such as firs or spruces, pines die completely.
soil condition
Be sure to choose deep soil. This is the only way for the pine tree to form a deep taproot, which protects it from snapping off in the wind and supplies it with nutrients. Ideally, the soil is very nutrient-rich. If this condition is not met, keep the substrate constantly moist. A slightly acidic pH of 5.5-7 is ideal.
Keep enough distance
When choosing a location, consider both the above- and below-ground spread of the branches and roots. Plan the distance to buildings, other trees and the neighboring property in your decision.
