What would summer be without watermelons? In any case, less tasty. However, it is sometimes a bit of a hassle to remove the seeds from the fruit. In our article we present two variants - one that is a little more direct and one where you hardly have to sacrifice any fruit pulp. Of course, we advise you to use the latter.

How to properly stone a watermelon
The great art of pitting a watermelon is not to rob as much of the precious flesh as possible. That's why we're presenting a method that may seem a bit cumbersome at first, but it's actually very simple and ensures that none of the tasty melon is lost.
- Place the melon on a sturdy cutting board.
- Get a large, sharp knife.
- Cut off the two ends of the melon (just barely).
- Now halve the fruit.
- Stand the first half of the melon upright.
- Score the melon about 1/4 inch apart all the way around, 1/2 inch deep (roughly like you would cut a cake).
- Push out each piece with your fingers.
- You now have all the cores open for each piece.
- Scoop out the seeds with a spoon (into a bowl or similar).
Deseed and cut the watermelon at the same time
If you don't have much time to prepare your watermelon, you can also choose the following method:
- Prepare a large enough bowl or bowl for your melon pieces.
- Place the melon on a sturdy cutting board.
- Quarter your melon with a sharp knife. That is, you first halve them, and then halve the resulting halves as well. So finally there are four pieces in front of you. It is best to use a large, sharp knife for this step.
- Take the first piece and a smaller but equally sharp knife.
- Cut out the flesh as far along the skin as possible.
- Then cut off individual pieces of the flesh around the seeds and drop them into the bowl or bowl provided.
- Collect the pithy areas on the kitchen paper provided.
- Do the same with the other quarters of your watermelon.
