Most varieties of weigela bloom very profusely for several weeks from around May. The flowering period usually lasts until June, sometimes even until July. With good care and in full sun, it will bloom again in early autumn. However, this is far less lush than the main flower.
What color does the weigela bloom?
Probably the best-known variety of the genus Weigelia is the carmine-red flowering Bristol Ruby. In autumn it also shows a beautiful light brown to golden yellow foliage. So that it comes into its own, give it enough space. Also keep in mind that the Bristol Ruby can grow to be quite a large shrub, reaching a height of two to three meters.
