A lot of delicious juice can even be obtained from fallen fruit and fruit with bruises. In addition, with this processing method you do not have to reach for the apple peeler and save a lot of time.

In our article we present you the advantages and disadvantages of:
- pot juicing
- steam juicing
- Juicing with the fruit press
- Cold juicing with centrifuges
before.
The pot juicing
This is suitable if you do not have to process a large amount of harvest. A saucepan and the electric stove are enough to obtain valuable apple juice in this way:
- Wash the apples well, cut out unsightly areas and cut into pieces.
- Shell and core are not removed.
- Put the fruit in a large saucepan and add just enough water to keep it from burning.
- As soon as the apples are cooked until soft, put them in a colander lined with a muslin diaper or a kitchen towel.
- Catch the juice in a porcelain bowl.
- Just let the juice drain, it stays clear. If you squeeze the fruit with a ladle, the pulp comes with it, which makes the drink particularly aromatic.
The fresh juice will keep for a few days in the refrigerator. But you can also boil it again, fill it in clean bottles and preserve it in this way.
The steam juicing
If you would like to process fruit into juice regularly, it is worth buying a steam juicer. Prepare the apples as for pot juicing. The fruits are filled into a perforated fruit basket. Below this is a pot filled with water. A lid is placed on top and the device is then heated on the stove.
The steam now rises through a small passage into the collection container in the fruit basket and causes the fruit cells to burst due to the heat. The juice can be taken directly from the juice container via an attached hose and filled into bottles.
Juicing with the fruit press
With this method of cold juicing, all vitamins and minerals are preserved. Large quantities of apples can also be processed in a relatively short time. For sterilization, the juice only has to be heated to 80 degrees, which is very beneficial to the taste. Fruit presses are not cheap. In many regions, however, you can rent a mobile juicer for a few days at low cost.
Cold juicing with the centrifuge
With the electric centrifuge, even large quantities of apples can be juiced in a very short time. The devices grate the washed fruit and eject the juice. The apple juice obtained can then be drunk fresh or preserved by heating. You can deliver your apple harvest to many cider factories, where the juice is extracted using a centrifuge and you can take the finished juice home with you in standard household units.
