Whether as a privacy screen, windbreak or to delimit the garden space, an evergreen, fast-growing tree makes for a quick solution. The best species for the home garden.

Which evergreen trees are particularly fast-growing?
The evergreen species presented here are without exception conifers or conifers. These are hardy, robust and easy to care for. Some can reach heights of between 30 and 40 meters, so are not necessarily suitable for small gardens. Others, on the other hand, remain rather small with an average final height of six meters. Nevertheless, all of the trees listed can be limited in size by regular pruning. If, on the other hand, rather narrow trees are desired, it is best to choose a columnar shape - but be careful, some of the slender varieties are short!
Horse cypress (Cupressocyparis leylandii)
The ridley cypress or Leyland cypress is probably the most recommended fast-growing conifer species. Depending on the location and soil conditions, it grows between 40 and 100 centimeters per year and reaches final heights of between eight and 25 meters, but its size can be very well limited by pruning measures. It also grows particularly densely.
Occidental tree of life (Thuja occidentalis)
The tree of life grows between 20 and 40 centimeters per year, also copes well with difficult site conditions, is prunable and available in many varieties with copper-colored, yellow or green needles.
silver fir (Abies alba)
The native "queen of the conifers" can grow up to 65 meters high in their natural environment and is therefore one of the giants in our forests. In the garden it usually reaches between 30 and 40 meters if you let it. The tree grows between 20 and 40 centimeters per year.
Norway spruce (Picea abies)
Spruces are suitable for solitary as well as for group or hedge planting. With an average growth of 45 to 70 centimeters per year, it is very fast-growing.
Yew (Taxus baccata)
The native yew tree, which tolerates pruning and is therefore easy to shape, grows by an average of between 20 and 30 centimeters per year. However, this conifer is highly poisonous!
Common juniper (Juniperus communis)
The common juniper or heather juniper also increases in size by between 20 and 40 centimeters per year. The tree, which tolerates pruning very well, also provides juniper berries, which are often used as a spice in the kitchen.
tips
If it doesn't necessarily have to be a tree, then the various types and varieties of bamboo are among the fastest-growing, evergreen shrubs. Here, however, a root barrier is mandatory, otherwise there will soon be a whole bamboo forest in your garden.
