All Kalanchoe species prefer a very bright, sunny place. Ideal is:
- A window facing south, south-east or south-west.
- A sunny balcony in the summer months.
In the blazing midday sun, however, a little shade is recommended so that the leaves do not get sunburned.

Even if the Kalanchoe needs very little water and can feed itself for a while from the liquid stored in the leaves, regular watering is important in a sunny location. Water at the latest when the substrate feels dry.
