Although the linden tree comes from South Africa, it does not like great heat. In addition, it does not tolerate direct sunlight or dry heating air well, but needs a lot of light. Accordingly, it should spend the winter in a cool, bright place.

Temperatures between 5 °C and 10 °C are ideal, as they occur in a stairwell or in the basement. However, the indoor linden should get enough light there, otherwise it will lose its leaves. In winter, the plant needs very little water and should not be fertilized. Do not reduce the amount of water suddenly but slowly.
The essentials in brief:
- ideal temperature for winter: approx. 5 °C to 10 °C
- water only a little in winter
- Reduce pouring amount slowly
- do not fertilize
tips
The ideal winter quarters for the indoor linden is cool and bright with a not too low humidity. A bright basement room or the equally bright stairwell are definitely suitable places.
