In general, spring and autumn are the best times of year to plant a tree. The only requirement is that the ground is frost-free.

- Trees with root ball: have been dug up, soil adheres to the roots and the ball is often wrapped with linen or wire netting

You can basically plant container goods all year round, as these trees take root easily and continue to grow. Trees with a root ball, on the other hand, are ideally planted in early autumn (between the end of August and the end of September) so that they can take root in time for winter. Bare root crops, on the other hand, are planted between October and April.

Deciduous trees are always planted at the time of leaf fall in autumn so that they can invest their energies in developing new roots.
