This pretty Kalanchoe, which is also known as desert cabbage, is one of the most attractive representatives of its kind. If it is bright enough, the edges and gradually the surfaces of the thick-fleshed leaves turn deep red. The white-yellow flowers are in dense racemes.

Kalanchoe Thysiflora is slightly poisonous
Even if the German name Wüstenkohl would suggest that this plant is even suitable for human consumption, unfortunately this is not the case. The Kalanchoe Thysiflora is slightly poisonous. All parts of the plant contain glycosides.
These can:
- indigestion and/or
- cardiovascular disorders
to lead. Children and pets are particularly sensitive to these substances.
tips
It is always advisable to position houseplants in such a way that small children or household animals cannot reach them. If they accidentally snack on plants and symptoms occur as a result, consult a doctor immediately, as the transitions between harmless and severe intoxication are fluid.
