Almost unnoticed, at least for non-Berliners, the IGA 2022 with a total area of over 100 hectares opened its doors wide until October 15th. Although Europe's largest prefabricated housing estate in Berlin Hellersdorf is very difficult to imagine as a background, nine international themed gardens have been created on this area, a visit to which is a great experience for all age groups.

Until the finale in autumn, organizers and exhibitors are expecting two million visitors to the attractive site with the 1.5 km long cable car, whose operators were already able to look forward to the 1,000,000th ride in the ten-person gondolas in mid-July. The meeting, conference and information center in the countryside offers its guests countless wonderful attractions, e.g. a lovingly landscaped garden in the English style, atmospheric water gardens, an energy-efficient tropical hall in the area of the Balinese Garden and last but not least, the open-air stage, which offers space for 5,000 visitors.

In general, it is better to book tickets for the events at the IGA online in good time, as the number of participants is limited on many dates.
Main attractions on the IGA site
Visiting all the highlights of the exhibition in detail will probably only be possible for Berliners or visitors from the outskirts who have obtained one of the popular annual tickets. You should definitely bring enough time with you for a detour to the approx. 2,000 m2 flower hall and the wood exhibition, which shines in a very special splendor of colors, especially in late summer. The "garden situations" with their ten themed gardens in a contemporary and particularly natural design convey countless inspirations for your own greenery at home. For a well-deserved break with the little ones, three multi-generational playgrounds, designed with great attention to detail, await you - between figurative giant ants, human sharks, jungle whales and a corrugated iron equator. Converted impressions from Kästner's children's book "The 35th of May or Konrad rides into the South Seas". However, the fun does not come for free.
