The hardy giant bamboo, botanically Dendrocalamus giganteus, can grow to over 30 meters in its homeland. Although it does not reach this height in Germany, it still has enormous growth and an impressive appearance.
The giant bamboo can grow up to 20 meters high
In this country you can count on a size of about 15 - 20 m if you plant a giant bamboo. On warm days with a sufficient water supply, he can put on 40 cm and more. For good growth, give it as sunny a spot as possible. In its homeland, growth is around 70 - 100 cm per day. There the stalks become so thick that buildings can be erected with them.
