Wild roses do well in poor soil. However, in order to promote rich flowering, these plants should be fertilized regularly in the garden. But not too much of a good thing! Too much nitrogen stimulates shoot formation, but inhibits flowering!

It is sufficient if you provide your wild rose with rotted compost once a year - preferably in the spring when they sprout - or water them with nettle manure every few weeks during the gardening season.

Do wild roses tolerate drought or should they be watered?

These plants are highly adaptable. They tolerate both moist and dry soils. If it comes to drought in summer, you don't necessarily have to water it.
