Whether as a standard or a shrub, fuchsias are among the most popular ornamental plants not only in German gardens. The plant owes this not only to the eye-catching, characteristic shape and rich colors of its flowers, but also to its extremely long flowering period. However, you have to do a lot for a rich bloom - fuchsias are not necessarily easy to care for.

Fuchsias are permanent bloomers
Most species of fuchsia bloom throughout the summer from June, often well into autumn - with the right weather and mild temperatures even in November and December. Well cared for indoor fuchsias often show their flowers all year round.
The right care for a long flowering period
However, the demanding plants usually do not flower "just like that" - they need regular fertilization, lots of water - but not too much - and should also be pruned.
- Fertilize fuchsias with a liquid flowering plant fertilizer (€10.47) - preferably more often, but less.
- Fuchsias like it moist, but not wet. Water regularly and avoid waterlogging.
- High humidity is also important: spray the plants all over with water from time to time.
- The location should be bright but not in full sun.
tips
As a rule of thumb, the lighter the blooms, the more sun the fuchsias tolerate.
