They come in different colors - the bluebells. In the perennial bed they look great planted in the foreground. You can also occasionally find them in wild meadows. But are they poisonous or not?

Small amounts are harmless
One thing is for sure: bluebells are not deadly poisonous! Otherwise there would be references to this in the relevant literature. You can therefore taste these plants carefully. The flowers in particular are harmless. You should avoid the stems, which contain a lot of milky juice.
Here are a few more hints:
- Flowers between June and August
- Do not offer food to pets or small children
- has a diuretic and haemostatic effect
- Species like the Rapunzel bellflower used to be eaten like vegetables
tips
The palate often knows better than the internet: pay attention to how your body reacts after eating the bluebell. Does it burn or scratch your throat, is the taste unpleasant, or do other symptoms appear? If so, better keep your hands off it!
