Few hedge plants are as fast-growing as the blue cypress. The conifer is quite slender, but it shoots up very quickly and can only be kept in check by regular pruning.

Rapid growth and considerable height
Blue cypresses are now available in numerous varieties. Some of these can reach considerable heights of up to 25 meters within a few years.
The decision for a blue cypress or a hedge made of cypresses needs to be well thought out.
Without regular pruning, there is a risk that the conifer will not only grow very tall and wide, but over time it will bare from below and get many brown spots. It then no longer offers sufficient privacy protection.
tips
The growth form of the blue cypress is columnar or spherical, depending on the variety. The columnar shapes are suitable for hedges. As solitary plants, the spherical cypresses look very decorative.
