Although the popular clay balls provide important services in the cultivation of indoor plants, sooner or later the question of disposal arises. If there are no alternative uses, the granules can be disposed of in various ways.

Semaris in waste management
Seramis is a clay granulate and does not contain any toxic ingredients as the basic substrate. It is a natural substance that is not soluble in water, does not pose a threat to groundwater and is not decomposed by microorganisms. The European Waste Catalog categorizes waste based on its origin:
- household and municipal waste
- Park and garden waste including materials from cemeteries
- other non-biodegradable waste
- Garbage from horticulture
You can dispose of small amounts of clay pellets (€22.65) like expanded clay (€19.73) and put them in the residual waste bin. The pellets don't rot on the compost. However, later in the garden and raised bed, they ensure that the soil has a loose structure and stores more water. This addition improves heavy loamy soils. The granulate does not belong in the organic waste bin, as it will damage the chopper blades (€199.99) during later processing.
Other disposal options
Normally, the substrate in the house and garden does not accumulate in large quantities that require disposal at the landfill. If you have no other disposal option, you can inquire at the recycling center in your region. In small quantities of a maximum of 100 liters, the service providers usually accept the material free of charge.
rubble
Since Seramis, unlike expanded clay, is not used for insulation purposes, the material does not come to light in building renovations. However, you can dispose of the Seramis beads as construction waste, as they count as mineral waste. They must be free from other additives.
bricks and bricks
Some disposal companies group man-made stones made from clay minerals under the bricks and bricks category. A prerequisite for disposal in this way is that the materials are free of adhesions and glazes. They must be pure and must not contain any pollutant residues. Clay is fully reused and used as a filler and admixture in construction. It is also added to humus and potting soil to increase water retention.
