The noble geranium (bot. Pelargonium grandiflorum), originally from South Africa, is a very popular indoor and garden plant that does not tolerate frost. In this point it differs significantly from geraniums (bot. Geranium), also known as cranesbills.

Noble geraniums like it warm and sunny

Where do noble geraniums feel particularly at home?

You can cultivate noble geraniums both inside in the living room or conservatory and outside on the balcony or in the garden. Since they do not tolerate frost, they should only be planted after the ice saints in a light, ideally sheltered place. You can overwinter the perennial plants well.

The essentials in brief:

  • room, garden bed or balcony
  • sunny to off-sun
  • preferably protected from wind and rain
  • preferably not below 10 °C
  • no blazing midday sun on the windowsill
  • relatively easy to care for

tips

The more light your noble geraniums get, the more luxuriantly they bloom. Therefore, give them a rather sunny place.
