Pamper yourself or rather leave it to yourself? What attracts the habanero plant more hot chilies? We're going to look into that question today. And yes, you have some work to do. However, the reward for the effort is anything but sweet!

Prefer habanero
The optimal care of a habanero plant is an important prerequisite for a satisfactory chilli harvest. But the time factor must not be neglected either. The ripening of the fruit takes about three months from sowing. Since it is too cold outside for this plant until mid-May, the Habanero must be grown indoors from February.
The seeds must be kept moderately moist until they germinate and require at least 24 °C of warmth and plenty of light. Fertilizing is not beneficial at this time. Instead, lean potting soil is used for sowing.
Select location
Whether you grow a habanero plant in a pot or in a bed. In both cases it must be reached by the sun from morning to evening. If it gets enough warmth, it only needs minimal care.
Fertilize
Young habanero plants need a steady supply of nutrients throughout the growing season. However, keep a sense of proportion, as undersupply is more likely to be tolerated than over-fertilization.
Potted specimens are planted in commercially available potting soil and find enough nutrients in it for about four weeks. After that, a nightshade fertilizer is ideal for them.
Plenty of compost should be worked into the bed before planting. Later, this fertilization can be refreshed with diluted nettle manure.
pour
Habanero plants will not get along in the bed without additional watering. The amount of water administered must be based on requirements:
- pay attention to the current weather
- water daily on hot days
- young plants need to be watered more often
- Water potted specimens more often
- not cause waterlogging
Notice:
With yellow, drooping leaves, a habanero plant signals that it is suffering from wet conditions.
To harvest
Harvesting can also be understood as a care step. This will encourage reblooming, which will ultimately result in more fruit.
