A cladding not only serves to protect a plant pot, but also enriches it visually. You have many materials to choose from. So why invest money in a new purchase when such a disguise is easy to make yourself. On this page you will find detailed instructions on how to do it.

Transform plastic into a high-quality stone look
Would you like to give your cheap-looking plastic planter a high-quality design? Nothing easier than that. You don't need any previous technical knowledge, nor a lot of material or tools.
In contrast to the real stone variant, such a plant pot even has a decisive advantage: the cladding usually only changes the dead weight minimally, so that the pot can still be transported very easily.
manual
- Sand the outer wall of your bucket with emery paper so that the insulation later adheres well.
- Use foam tubes as insulation material, which you cut open lengthwise.
- Wrap the foam around the top of the bucket to form a closed circle.
- Cut the ends accordingly.
- Now you need waterproof and frost-resistant glue that also dries quickly.
- Apply a coat to the previously measured rim of the bucket.
- Unfold the foam at the cut point and press onto the edge.
- Where the two ends touch, fix an aluminum tape.
- Line the ground with a tarp.
- Spray paint the planter with any color you like (varnish is available at hardware stores).
- Let the paint dry.
