Build your own polystyrene planters
Have you recently received a package delivery? Perfect, instead of throwing away the useful crafting material, better use it to make your own planter. Depending on whether the styrofoam is already in a box shape or you just have surfaces that you glue together, you can freely choose the capacity.
- Cut the styrofoam to the desired size.
- Line the box with foil.
- Press the foil firmly in the corners.
- Cut off the excess film at the top edge.
- Cut a hole in the foil and polystyrene at the bottom for the irrigation water to drain.
- Now fill the box with potting soil.
- Place any plants in the planter.
Make plant pots out of styrofoam
Painting with paint is rather unsuitable for designing a plant pot made of Styrofoam. Often the color does not cover properly and soaks into the material. Unfortunately, it is then clearly visible that it is "only" polystyrene. Instead, you should disguise your planter better. To do this, cut wooden slats to the right size and glue them to the outside of the planter. We have put together many more inspirations for designing a planter here for you.
