Plant Endless summer properly
You plant the farmer's hydrangea Endless Summer according to all the rules of gardening art in these steps:
Finally, generously water the planting site and spread a layer of mulch.
care tips
During the course of growth and flowering, water the peasant hydrangea daily with soft water in the morning and evening hours when it is hot in the summer. Regular application of acidic, organic fertilizer every 2 weeks or a slow-release hydrangea fertilizer in March and June covers the great hunger for nutrients from March to September. These aspects of care are also relevant:
Protect the flowering shrubs from the first frost with a thick layer of leaves and brushwood. The frost-sensitive buds receive a hood made of felt or jute.

Which location is suitable?
Plant the Endless Summer peasant hydrangea where it will be pampered by the sun in the morning or evening. The ornamental tree does not want to be confronted with blazing midday sun. Ideally, the pretty flowers will not be tossed by the wind in the chosen location, although an aerated location is desirable so that rainwater dries quickly.

The right planting distance
The farmer's hydrangea Endless Summer sets decorative accents as a solitary plant, in a group or as a hedge plant. A cleverly chosen planting distance corresponds to half the growth width. Position the white summer beauty 'The Bride' at a distance of 50 centimetres, as its normal growth width is 100 centimetres.
What soil does the plant need?
As a shallow root, the farmer's hydrangea is dependent on nutrient-rich, humus-rich soil. Fresh, moist and well-drained soil contributes significantly to vitality. First and foremost, an acidic pH value of between 5 and 6 should prevail. You can check the value with an uncomplicated test kit from the garden center without any previous chemical knowledge being required.
What is the best planting time?
Planting time for a farmer's hydrangea Endless Summer begins in mid-May. By this time, the danger of ground frosts has passed, so that no harm threatens the young flowering bush and the tender buds.
When is flowering time?
One of the outstanding attributes of Endless Summer is the never-ending flowering period from May to October. This means that the modern hydrangea line trumps every other farmer's hydrangea and plate hydrangea.
How to cut endless summer correctly
The farmer's hydrangea Endless Summer rarely wants to make acquaintance with scissors. Cut the ornamental shrub on the following occasions:
If buds freeze in winter, cut them out to the nearest healthy leaf node. Since Endless Summer is also flowering on this year's wood, you won't have to go without a flower.

Watering endless summer
Water a farmer's hydrangea daily in spring and summer, in the morning and in the evening if necessary. Use mainly soft water without lime content. Nutrient-rich pond water, which is poured directly onto the roots via the spout of the watering can, is excellently suited.
Fertilize properly Endless summer
Like every farmer's hydrangea, Endless Summer is no hunger artist either. Meet the high nutritional needs from March to September in this way:
hibernate
To ensure that the farmer's hydrangea gets through the winter well, take these precautions before the first frost:
Frost damage cannot always be prevented. Simply cut off frostbitten buds in early spring until the next healthy eye.

Multiply endless summer
To grow more specimens of a farmer's hydrangea, we recommend vegetative propagation with cuttings. In June or July, cut off non-flowering shoots 10-15 centimeters long. After the bottom half has been defoliated, plant each cutting in a pot of peat sand and cover with a plastic bag. In a partially shaded, sheltered location, keep the substrate constantly moist. A first sprout signals the successful rooting, so that the hood can be omitted. Your offspring will be planted out next year from mid-May.

Endless summer in the pot
Its compact habit with a growth height of 100 to 150 centimeters qualifies the hydrangea Endless Summer for pot culture. The farmer's hydrangea thrives in a sunny to partially shaded location on the balcony and terrace in loose compost-based moor bed soil. Drainage above the water outlet prevents harmful waterlogging. This is how exemplary care succeeds:
In autumn, move the plate hydrangea to a frost-free, not too dark winter quarters with temperatures around 5 degrees Celsius. If long shoots protrude from the bush, they can be shortened before clearing.
Endless summer does not bloom
If Endless Summer peasant hydrangea does not bloom, the buds have suffered spring frost damage. To prevent this damage, keep an eye on the weather forecast and protect the shoots with garden fleece if the ground frosts are delayed. Due to a lack of nutrients or drought stress, the farmer's hydrangea also refuses to flower.
How to change the flower color?
It is up to you whether your farmer's hydrangea shines in blue or pink. The secret lies in the acidity of the soil. If the pH value tends in the alkaline direction, pink prevails as the color. If the soil value falls into the acidic range, the blue color pigments gain the upper hand if aluminum ions join them. How to influence the process:
If the pH is between blue and pink, you can look forward to the phenomenon of a two-tone plate hydrangea.
What is the difference between peasant hydrangea and plate hydrangea?
The first hydrangea in the new Endless Summer collection presented itself with the mighty flower balls of a farmer's hydrangea. Other breeds within this line, such as Twist-n-Shout, develop the typical flowers of a plate hydrangea. This is not surprising, because both hydrangeas are botanically assigned to the garden hydrangea Hydrangea macrophylla. Thus, the difference is limited solely to optical characteristics, such as their flower shape.
On the other hand, the opinion is sometimes taken that the plate hydrangea differs so clearly from the farmer's hydrangea that it represents an independent species with the botanical name Hydrangea serrata.
