The most beautiful daisies for the balcony
Although the Australian daisy is not a daisy from a botanical point of view, it is very decorative and makes an excellent balcony plant. It is also called blue daisy because of its color and resemblance to daisies. With a growth height of up to 45 cm, however, it becomes significantly larger.
The double variety Habanera delights you with filigree flowers. These are white with red tips and about 3 - 6 cm in size. The plant grows to about 15 cm high and is therefore also suitable for smaller pots. With a growth height of about 20 cm, the Nibelungen variety is even suitable as a cut flower for bouquets.
Overwintering the daisies on the balcony
Annual varieties are simply sown again the following year. This also includes some varieties of the Australian daisy. Biennial varieties usually flower in their second year. Give these plants a light, cool place in the house or a shelter from too much frost. Some brushwood or leaves are usually sufficient.
Even in winter, the soil must not dry out completely, otherwise the plants will die of thirst. Therefore, water your daisies from time to time during the frost-free period. Fertilizing is not necessary, it only makes sense during the growth phase and flowering period.
