The lavender heather is poisonous. But that doesn't stop plant lovers from planting them. After all, it impresses with its evergreen foliage and its rich and colorful blossoms. But where does she feel best?

Part shade to full shade in a sheltered position
In full sun, the shadowbell becomes stressed and tends to dry out. A layer of mulch should be the be-all and end-all here. A semi-shady to shady place that is protected from wind, midday heat and winter sun is ideal.
Since the shadow bell has similar requirements to rhododendrons, ferns and hostas, it is welcome to be in the vicinity of them. The floor should have the following characteristics in order to keep maintenance costs to a minimum:
- humorous
- permeable
- wet
- slightly sour
- low in lime
