pour
Casting is more about technique than quantity. To avoid leaching out important nutrients, never directly water the weed. Only water the substrate. You have to keep it moist all the time, although you should avoid waterlogging. When this happens, your cat grass will begin to mold and attract fruit flies. It is then no longer suitable for your four-legged friend to eat. It is best to spray the plant instead of watering it. Another recommended method is to place the cat grass on a coaster filled with water.
To cut
If your cat doesn't nibble on the grass all the time, you'll have to trim it down after a while. Otherwise, brown tips will form. In addition, the grass becomes more and more sharp-edged over time. The pruning can be strong, as the cat grass will quickly sprout again and form stronger stalks.
Note: Under no circumstances should you fertilize your cat grass. The excess of nutrients has a detrimental effect on your cat's digestion.
