If you enjoy bird watching, it's worth putting up a nest box in your backyard. Once a bird has decided on the home you have provided, you will have a lot of fun with the hustle and bustle. The prerequisite, however, is that the nesting box is installed in a suitable location.
Nest boxes should hang high enough and as quietly as possible
clear the path
Birds prefer to fly directly into the entrance hole. Detours increase energy consumption and weaken the animals, especially after the breeding season. So make sure that
- there are no plants in the way
- no garden furniture is set up under the nesting box (€49.85).
Don't give cats a chance
Cats are magically attracted to nesting boxes. Bring your nesting box along
- at least two meters high
- on a smooth pole
take weather into account
- no south orientation because of too much sun exposure
- sheltered from the wind
- protected from precipitation
