If a flower box has no rain protection or is protected by a canopy, the water will stand up to the edge after heavy rainfall. Read here how to act correctly now and effectively prevent the dilemma.

Eliminate and prevent waterlogging - this is how it works
If your balcony box looks like a miniature swamp landscape after every downpour, you can repair the damage as follows:
- Repot all plants and remove the wet substrate
- Pour out the flower box (€16.99) and remove the soil
- Drill several holes in the ground
- Spread a 3-5 cm thick layer of grit, (46.95€) pottery shards or expanded clay (19.73€) over the holes
To prevent the drainage made of inorganic material from clogging up with potting soil, lay a breathable fleece over it. Now fill the balcony box with fresh substrate and put the plants in it. In this exceptional case, please wait a few days before watering for the first time so that the excess water in the roots can dissipate.
