When you buy small azaleas in pots, they usually have a large number of magnificent flowers that stay on the branches for a relatively long time. But once the flowers have fallen off, the whole plant often quickly dies and is thrown away. With the right care, it would be quite possible for the azalea to bloom again in the house.
Overwinter azaleas properly and let them bloom again
The optimal temperature for a long blooming azalea is actually between about 8 and 16 degrees Celsius. Therefore, for example, the bedroom can be a good location in the house. Other locations in the house are unfortunately often:
- too warm
- too dry
- too dark
The azalea should be overwintered relatively cool and bright, but it should not suffer from waterlogging in the pot. The beginnings of seed formation should be removed beforehand, as these can cost the plant a lot of strength.
