It is often read that the Kentia palm also gets along well with darker locations. However, that is not entirely true. Only in a light location will it develop many new fronds and show strong green leaves.

The Kentia palm needs a lot of light

Bright, sunny location preferred

The Kentia palm likes it best when it is in a very bright, preferably sunny location. The humidity must not be too low. You don't get much draft. Temperatures should not fall below 18 degrees.

If necessary, a partially shaded location will do, for example in the middle of an otherwise quite bright room. However, you may wait in vain for new fronds here.

In summer you are welcome to bring the Kentia palm onto the terrace, as long as it is not too cold outside.

tips

If the Kentia palm is in a location that is too dark, the leaf tips and fronds turn brown. Hardly any new fronds form.
