The relatively low-maintenance lime tree is not very susceptible to diseases and/or pests, although both occasionally occur. The reasons are of various nature, mostly the location is unsuitable or the care shows some (small) errors.

Which diseases does the linden tree suffer from most often?

If you consider diseases in your lime tree to be all deviations from the normal state, then leaf loss and discolouration are part of them. If it is watered with water that is too cold or too much, then it sheds its leaves, but also when it is waterlogged, there is a lack of water or there is a draught.

If the leaves of the lime tree turn yellow, then it is obviously suffering from a deficiency. Either it was watered too little or fertilized too little, but maybe both apply. Make up for your omission immediately and the linden tree will recover. If there is a lack of light, the blossoming of your indoor linden tree will be delayed or not at all.

If your lime tree gets brown spots on the leaves or if they turn completely brown, then the plant has definitely got sunburn. It should not be in an unshaded south-facing window. In the summer she is welcome to move into the garden or onto the balcony, but here she does not tolerate blazing sun without protection, although she is very hungry for light.

Does the room linden often suffer from pests?

Depending on the season and location, the room lime suffers more or less from an infestation with pests. If your lime tree is outside in the garden or on the balcony in summer, scale insects and aphids appear relatively frequently, but also whiteflies.

If you overwinter your lime tree in an unsuitable place, an infestation with scale insects, aphids or mealybugs can occur. In this case it is probably too dark and/or too warm for the plant. Because linden trees like it cool and very bright.
