The unusual looking (and very rare in our country) Yucca rostrata with its typical blue leaves and strong trunks is a desert plant - and as such of course not frost hardy. For this reason, the tree should never be planted in the garden, but always cultivated in a bucket.

Yucca rostrata is not hardy
Temperatures between 12 and 28 °C are ideal, and the air should be as dry as possible. During the summer months, it is best to place the Yucca rostrata in a hot and sunny place, but it is better to bring the bucket in before the first frost. You can overwinter the Yucca rostrata in the heated living room, provided the prevailing humidity there is low (and you do not dry laundry in the living room!) and you provide sufficient lighting. Alternatively, the tree also feels at home in a bright, unheated conservatory.
tips
Never leave the Yucca rostrata outside with foil or similar as frost protection in winter - moisture always forms underneath, to which this desert plant is very sensitive.
