Characteristic of the classic rubber tree (lat. Ficus elastica) are its leaves, which can grow dark green and shiny up to 30 cm. Since it only gets very inconspicuous flowers, its only decoration consists of these leaves.

Too much sun can lead to sunburn

It is even worse when these leaves turn yellow or brown. The causes for this can be of different nature, such as too much watering, lack of light, sunburn or drafts.

As a first aid, it is advisable to place the rubber tree in a suitable location and adjust the care. Water a little less in the future and only when the soil is getting a little dry. Only fertilize about every six weeks.

Possible causes of brown leaves:

  • poured too much
  • draft
  • lack of light
  • sunburn

tips
