As long as you plant flower bulbs in soil, the sword of Damocles of rot is constantly hovering over the floral head. The Knight Star is no exception in this respect. It's a good thing that an amaryllis also thrives without soil. We'll be happy to tell you how.

This is how a knight star blooms on water
For onion plants to thrive without soil, it is important to ensure that the roots have access to water. For this purpose, choose a vase that will be filled with water in the bulbous part, while the top part will hold the onion. An hourglass-shaped connection between the upper and lower part offers the root strands enough space as a passage. How to plant the knight star correctly:
- Fill the glass with boiled water
- Add a bit of charcoal to prevent rot
- Place the onion in the bowl
Please make sure that the water does not reach up to the onion. If it becomes cloudy after a few days, please change the water.
