In view of a temperature minimum of a mere - 1 degree Celsius, the garden amaryllis cannot be declared as hardy with a clear conscience. A perennial cultivation is still possible if you overwinter the exotic bulb properly. We will be happy to explain how it works.

Relocating to the winter quarters in good time - this is how it works
When the first frost is in front of the garden door, dig up the flower bulb and cut off the drawn-in leaves. Until the planting time next spring, the garden amaryllis stays in a quarter with these general conditions:
- Cool temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees Celsius
- Dark, airy and dry
- Spread the tubers out on a rule so that the skins are not touching
In the bucket you save your Crinum the stress of digging up. If there is enough space, put the pot together with the flower bulbs in the recommended winter quarters. If the hook lily overwinters in the substrate, water it from time to time so that it does not dry out completely.
