Roses have been deliberately bred by humans for thousands of years. So it's no wonder that there are apparently countless varieties today - and every year new breeds come onto the market that seem to surpass everything that has come before in terms of beauty, abundance of flowers and fragrance.

The flowers of the Friesia bed rose are bright yellow

Bed roses belong above all in the garden bed

Bed roses with their small, clustered flowers and shrub-like growth are primarily intended for planting in mixed beds. The following variants are distinguished:

  • Polyantharoses (e.g. the well-known variety 'Orange Triumpf') have large flower umbels, but small individual flowers.
  • Polyantha hybrids also flower in clusters, but produce larger individual flowers.
  • Finally, floribunda roses are characterized by even larger individual flowers. They are similar to hybrid tea roses, but bloom in large umbels.

Proven and beautiful bed roses

In the following table you will find an overview of particularly beautiful and proven floribunda varieties, all of which are disease-resistant and winter-hardy. Some also carry the predicate seal "ADR", i. H. they are considered to be particularly robust and healthy.

Ground cover roses are not really ground cover, but stay very low and usually grow slightly overhanging. They are therefore very suitable for dense planting, even in larger areas.
