The so-called Liatris spicata bears its name, after all, the colorful inflorescences attract numerous pretty butterflies with their nectar during the flowering period. Since the cultivation can also be managed by inexperienced gardeners with little maintenance, the Prachtscharte is a grateful enrichment for the perennial bed.

Lay the foundation for an abundance of flowers with a well-chosen location
In the nature of North America, the saffron grows in warm, sun-drenched landscapes with humus-rich soil. When planting in the garden, the chosen location should be as follows:
- sunny to full sun
- warm and protected from the wind as much as possible
- humic, nutrient-rich soil
- permeable soil without risk of waterlogging
In summer, the Prachtscharte also tolerates short periods of drought. On the other hand, it does not tolerate very heavy, compacted soils with a tendency to waterlogging. When cultivating in a bucket, care should therefore be taken to select the right plant substrate.
tips
The warmth-loving splendor thrives particularly well in wind-protected places next to house or natural stone walls facing south, south-east or south-west.
